George IV 1822 Farthing

George IV (1820-30), copper Farthing, 1822, first laureate and draped bust left, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIUS IIII DEI GRATIA. rev. Britannia seated right with trident and shield, holding olive branch, lion head to right, date in exergue, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, BRITANNIAR: REX FID: DEF: (Peck 1411; S.3822). Considerable lustre, light tone, a couple of light spots, otherwise uncirculated.

The Latin legends translate as on the obverse "George IIII by the grace of God" and on the reverse "King of the Britons, Defender of the Faith."
