George III (1760-1820), gold Sovereign, 1820, open 2, normal date arrangement under second laureate head right, finer engraved hair, ascending colon in legend surrounding, GEORGIUS III D: G: BRITANNIAR: REX F: D:, rev St George slaying dragon right with broken lance, Order of the Garter surrounding with French motto "HONI. SOIT. QUI. MAL. Y. PENSE", weight 7.99g (Bentley 942; Marsh 4; M.C.E.466; S.3785C). Attractively toned, a couple of digs on neck and reverse field, of bright appearance, otherwise almost extremely fine, reverse extremely fine.
