George III (1760-1820), gold Half Guinea, 1811, seventh laureate head right, legend surrounding, GEORGIVS III DEI GRATIA, rev. quartered shield of arms with crowned escutcheon of the arms of Hanover, all within crowned garter, French legend on garter HONI. SOIT. QUI. MAL. Y. PENSE., date below, legend commences upper right, BRITANNIARUM REX FIDEI DEFENSOR (MCE 447; EGC 857 R4; S.3737). The rarest date for the Half Guinea in this final type for George III, prooflike reflectivity in fields with light red toning, graded by NGC as AU58.

NGC Certification 5880293-009

The Latin legends translate as on obverse "George III by the grace of God" and on the reverse "King of the Britons, Defender of the Faith."
