George III 1806 Third-Guinea of Seven Shillings, 3rd type, 2nd bust MS62

George III (1760-1820), gold Third Guinea, 1806, third type, second laureate head right, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIVS III DEI GRATIA. rev. large crown, date below, legend surrounding commencing top, * BRITANNIARUM REX FIDEI DEFENSOR (MCE 457; S.3740). Toned, with some light flecking, a pleasing extremely fine, has been graded and slabbed by NGC as MS62.

We note that of 43 examples graded across both PCGS and NGC this coin falls into the top 28% of the roster of the highest grades.

The Latin legends translate as on obverse "George III by the grace of God" and on the reverse "King of the Britains, Defender of the Faith."
