George III 1799 proof Halfpenny

George III (1760-1820), Proof bronzed copper Halfpenny, 1799, laureate and draped bust right, K. raised on shoulder for engraver C H Kuchler, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIUS III DEI GRATIA REX, rev. Britannia seated left, with trident and shield, holding olive branch, SOHO below shield, three raised dots on rock to right, date below, ship sailing right to left of Britannia, edge grained, weight 12.72g (Peck 1244 KH22; S.3778). Toned, good extremely fine.

The Latin legends translate as on obverse "George the Third, by the grace of God, King" and on the reverse "of Britain."
