George III 1798 Third-Guinea
George III (1760-1820), gold Third Guinea, 1798, first laureate head right, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIVS III DEI GRATIA. rev. large crown, legend and date surrounding commencing lower left, MAG. BRI. FR. ET. HIB. REX. 1798, weight 2.78g (MCE 450; S.3738). Toned hairline mark on obverse, other very light surface marks, otherwise very fine.
The Latin legends translate as on obverse "George III by the grace of God" and on the reverse "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland."
