George III 1797 gilt pattern Farthing PF58

George III (1760-1820), gilt copper Proof Farthing, 1797, Soho Mint Birmingham, late period, laureate and draped bust right, two berries in wreath, K raised on truncation for engraver Conrad Heinrich Kuchler, Latin legend incuse on raised border surrounding both sides, GEORGIUS III. D: G. REX., rev. Britannia seated left on rock with trident and shield, rocks overlap rim of shield, holding olive branch, ship sailing right to left, SOHO raised on rock below, triangle of dots incuse on rock above, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, BRITANNIA, date below (Peck 1188 KF2). Hairlined and scuffed both sides, some copper shows through gilding on high points of obverse, has been slabbed and graded by NGC as PF58.

NGC Certification 4928206-001.

The Latin legends translate as on obverse "George III, by the grace of God, King" and on the reverse "of Britain."
