George III 1796 Pattern Halfpenny, Peck 924, Extremely Rare

George III (1760-1820), Pattern copper Halfpenny, 1796, struck in the style of Lewis Pingo, laureate and cuirassed bust left, legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIVS III DEI GRATIA, rev. inverted die axis, Britannia seated left on globe with shield, spear and olive branch, date in exergue, BRITAN NIA. surrounding, edge plain, weight 5.11g (Peck 924; Eimer -; Selig -). Toned very fine and extremely rare, only four pieces perhaps in private hands with singular examples in the British and Birmingham Museums.
