George III (1760-1820), gold Guinea, 1774, fourth laureate head right, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIVS. III. DEI. GRATIA., rev. crowned quartered shield of arms, date either side of crown, abbreviated Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, M.B.F.ET.H. REX. F.D.B. ET.L.D.S.R.I.A.T ET.E., edge milled (Schneider -; Bull EGC 687; MCE 379; Farey 1140; S.3728). Worn on the high points with some surface marks in reverse details, graded by NGC as AU55.

The Latin legends translate as on obverse "George the Second by the Grace of God" and continues on to the reverse as "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, Duke of Brunswick and Luneberg, High Treasurer and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire".
The total calendar year output for 1774, the first year of the fourth head type was £4,685,624 which was the third highest for the date range of this type.
