George III 1773 Halfpenny, first obverse, second reverse
George III (1760-1820), copper Halfpenny, 1773, first obverse, laureate and cuirassed bust right, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding both sides, GEORGIVS. III. REX. rev. second type, Britannia seated left on globe with spear and olive branch, date in exergue, BRITAN NIA. weight 10.08g (Peck 904; S.3774). Considerable lustre both sides, light tone, just a tad weak in strike on the reverse otherwise practically as struck, good extremely fine.
The Latin legends translate as on obverse "George III King" and on the reverse "of Britain"
