George III (1760-1820),silver Proof Twopence, 1763, young laureate and draped bust right, legend and outer toothed border surrounding, GEORGIVS. III. DEI. GRATIA,rev.crowned 2 the mark of value, date either side of crown, legend and toothed border surrounding, MAG. BRI. FR. ET HIB. REX, edge plain, weight 1.18g (Bull 2271 R6; ESC 2238a R6; Robinson p.160, 244; S.3756). Recorded in the Spink 'Coins of England' as 'of the highest rarity' omitting any pricing or guidelines on value. English Silver Coinage (both editions - Rayner and the updated seventh edition by Bull) record this coin as R6 which equates to 2-3 known. An exceptional specimen, excessively rare, encapsulated and graded by NGC as PF63.

The Latin legends translate to on obverse "George III by the Grace of God" on the reverse "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland."
