The Latin legends translates on obverse as "George III by the Grace of God," and on reverse as "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland."
John Craig in this book "The Mint" notes that £3,162 worth of these were minted in 1762 which equates to 252,960 pieces. The 1762 Threepence is the only small silver coin of this date there being no maundy set available.
