George II (1727-60), gold Guinea, 1759, old laureate head left, legend surrounding with pellet stops, GEORGIVS.II. DEI.GRATIA., toothed outer border both sides, rev. crowned quartered shield of arms, date either side of crown, variety with weak crown interior, abbreviated Latin legend, M.B.F. ET. H. REX. F.D. B.ET. L. D. S. R. I. A. T ET. E. (Schneider -; EGC 623; Farey 1000; MCE 332; S.3680). Toned with cameo brilliance, has been graded and slabbed by PCGS as MS64 with Terner label.

PCGS certification 618047.64/21474875. We note this coin is the second finest graded with the only better one being a 64+, NGC also have their finest graded example as a 64.

The Latin legends translate as on obverse "George II by the Grace of God" and continues on to the reverse as "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, Duke of Brunswick and Luneberg, High Treasurer and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire".

We note a high calendar year output of gold at £2,333,260 for 1759, the highest ever recorded up to this point in time.
