George II (1727-60),silver Penny, 1757, young laureate and draped bust left, legend surrounds, GEORGIVS. II. DEI. GRATIA:,colon after legend,rev.crowned mark of value, date either side of crown, legend reads MAG. BRI. FR. ET. HIB. REX., weight 0.50g (Bull.1839a; ESC.2349a; Robinson p.159:230 (i); S.3715a). Toned, has been slabbed and graded by NGC as MS62.
NGC Certification 8220388-002 - currently the second finest graded at NGC with only one other finer at PCGS.
The Latin legends translates on obverse as "George II by the Grace of God," and on reverse as "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland
The 1757 Penny is the only small silver coin of this date there being no maundy set available.
