George II (1727-60),silver Penny, 1757, young laureate and draped bust left, legend surrounds, GEORGIVS. II. DEI. GRATIA:,colon after legend,rev.crowned mark of value, date either side of crown, legend reads MAG. BRI. FR. ET. HIB. REX., weight 0.47g (Bull.1839a; ESC.2349a; Robinson p.159:230 (i); S.3715a). Toned, some marks and spots, almost extremely fine.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "George II by the Grace of God," and on reverse as "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland

The 1757 Penny is the only small silver coin of this date there being no maundy set available.
