George II (1727-60), gold Half Guinea, 1751, date with 1 struck over 0, older laureate head left, GEORGIVS.II. DEI.GRATIA., rev. crowned quartered shield of arms, date either side of crown, M.B.F. ET. H. REX. F.D. B.ET. L. D. S. R. I. A. T ET. E., edge grained, weight 4.20g (Schneider -; Bull EGC 654 R5; MCE 360; S.3685). Lightly toned, with some light surface marks, has been slabbed and graded by NGC as AU58+ and an extremely rare date.

NGC certification 2130716-016.

We note as of December 2022 this coin is the lower of only two graded examples and higher grade than the one example at PCGS

The Latin legends translates as on the obverse "George, by the grace of God, King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith" and on the reverse "Duke of Brunswick and Luneberg, High Treasurer and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire."

The total gold output for the calendar year of 1751 was £450,663.
