George II (1727-60), silver Proof Crown, 1746, older laureate and draped bust left, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIVS.II. DEI.GRATIA., rev. crowned cruciform shields, nine strings to Irish harp, garter star at centre, date either side of top crown, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, M.B.F.ET. H.REX. F.D.B. ET.L.D.S.R.I. A.T ET.E., edge inscribed in raised letters of inverted orientation to obverse, *DECVS. ET. TVTAMEN. ANNO. REGNI. VICESIMO, weight 30.02g (Bull 1669 R; L&S 7; ESC 126; C&R 807 R; S.3690). Attractively toned, nick on forehead and slight one by mouth, a few hairlines in fields both sides, has been graded and slabbed by NGC as PF61, rare.

NGC Certification 5880763-002.

The abbreviated Latin legends translate as on the obverse "George the Second by the Grace of God, King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith" and on the reverse as "Duke of Brunswick and Luneberg, High Treasurer and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire."
