George II (1727-60), silver Threepence, 1746, with 6 of date over 3, young laureate bust left, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding both sides, GEORGIVS. II. DEI. GRATIA., rev, crowned mark of value, date either side of crown, legend commences upper right, .MAG. BRI. FR. ET. HIB. REX., weight 1.50g (Bull.1802; ESC.2031A; S.3713B). Toned, a little flecked, good very fine.
The abbreviated Latin legends translate as on the obverse "George the second by the Grace of God" and on the reverse "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland."
The Threepence with 6 over 3 in date is Robinson p.159 - 221 (i).
