George II 1740 silver Penny, young head

George II (1727-60), silver Penny, 1740, young laureate and draped bust left, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding both sides, GEORGIVS. II. DEI. GRATIA., rev. crowned mark of value, date either side of crown, legend commences upper right, .MAG. BRI. FR ET. HIB. REX. (Bull 1826; ESC 2338; S.3715A). Toned, almost extremely fine.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "George the Second, by the Grace of God," and on reverse as "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland."
