George II 1735 Two-Guineas, young head, rare date, MS61+ PL, ex Chalaza

George II (1727-60),gold Two Guineas, 1735, young laureate head left, legend surrounding, GEORGIVS. II. DEI. GRATIA., variety with stop above centre of head,rev.crowned quartered shield of arms, date either side of crown, seven strings to Irish harp, abbreviated Latin legend, M.B.F.ET.H. REX. F.D.B.ET.L.D.S.R.I.A.T.ET.E edge grained (Schneider obv.2/rev.2; MCE.291; S.3667A).Toned with proof like brilliance, has been graded and slabbed by NGC as MS61+PL, very rare date.

NGC certification 5880292-017.

We note that PCGS have yet to grade any 1735 Two Guinea pieces, whereas NGC have graded a mere seven pieces, this is the only one to receive the "proof like" PL designation.

The Latin legends translate as on obverse "George II by the Grace of God" and continues on to the reverse as "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, Duke of Brunswick and Luneberg, High Treasurer and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire".
