George I (1714-27),silver Twopence, 1726, laureate and draped bust right, legend surrounds, GEORGIVS. DEI. GRA.,rev.crowned mark of value, date either side of crown, legend reads .MAG. BRI. FR. ET. HIB. REX., larger reverse letters with first B and R with broken bases, weight 1.00g (Bull.1633; ESC.2224; Robinson p.157:182; S.3656). Toned, very fine.
The Latin legends translates on obverse as "George I by the Grace of God," and on reverse as "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland."
The 1726 Twopence and Penny are the only small silver coins of this date there being no maundy set available.
