George I (1714-27),silver Twopence, 1717, laureate and draped bust right, legend surrounds, GEORGIVS. DEI. GRA., with a stop after GRA,rev.crowned mark of value, date either side of crown, legend reads .MAG. BRI. FR. ET. HIB. REX., weight 0.94g (cf. Bull.1630; ESC.2221; Robinson p.157:168; S.3656). Dark tone, near very fine.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "George I by the Grace of God," and on reverse as "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland."

The 1717 Fourpence, Threepence and Twopence are the only small silver coins of this date with no maundy set being available.
