Genghis Khan [Chingiz], (AH 603-624 / 1206-1227), gold Dinar, Bukhara, no date, kalima, mint name divided, with "bukha" below and "ra" above, rev. chingiz khan / al-'adil / al-a'zam, 3.83g, 6h (Album 1964). Very fine, rare.

Having risen to power, in 1206 the Mongol leader Temüjin was given the title by which he's known "Chingiz Khan" (Genghis Khan). His personal name is never written on his coinage. Despite his 21-year reign, his vast empire and the power he held, his gold coinage is extremely rare. In the region of only 200-300 Chingiz gold coins are known despite him presiding over much of the Caucasus, Mongolia, China, Korea and beyond, by the time of his death in 1227.
