Francesco I Sforza (1401-1466), fourth Duke of Milan, cast bronze medal, 1456, by Gianfrancesco Enzola (active 1455-1478), bust right, in plain armour, V - F to either side, FR SFORTIA VICE COMES MLI DVX IIII BELLI PATER ET PACIS AV TOR MCCCCLVI, rev. greyhound seated under tree, celestial hand reaches to bless it, IO FR ENZOLAE PARMENSIS OPVS, 42mm. (Hill, Corpus 281; Arm I, 44/6; Pollard, 2007, 135; Kress 92). A contemporary cast with brown patina, dark on obverse, very fine and rare.

Said to be *ex Baldwin's vault
Gianfrancesco Enzola (active 1455-1478), medallist, goldsmith and die engraver, primarily employed by the Sforzas.
