Jean II Le Bon (1350-64), gold Franc a Cheval, issue of 5th December 1360, armoured King on horseback with raised sword galloping left, fleur de lis decoration on armour and horse caparison, beaded border and legend surrounding, initial mark lis, IOhANNES: DEI : GRACIA: FRANCORV: REX, double annulet stops, rev. voided quatrefoil at centre of cross fleury, palm leaf type terminals, also upon cusps of quadrilobed surrounding, voided trefoils in spandrels, + XP'C* VINCIT* XP'C* REGnAT* XP'C* INPERAT, rosette stops, note use of a gothic n in Regnat, weight 3.81g (Dup.294; Fr.279). Struck a little off-centre with some die clash, otherwise good very fine.
