France, Charles VI (1380-1422), Gold Ecu D'Or a la Couronne, Dijon Mint, issue from 1388, crowned arms with three lis, within beaded inner circle with legend surrounding with double saltire stops, initial mark cross, KAROLVS: DEI: GRA: FRANCORVM: REX, the last V is an inverted A, rev. mullet at centre of fleured cross, within treasure of four arcs, lis on each cusp, crown in each spandrel, beaded circle and legend surrounding, XPC* VINCIT* XPC* REGNAT* XPC* INPERAT, pellet under R of REGNAT, weight 3.98g (cf.Duplessy 369A; Bailly 39; Ciani 486; Fr.291). Toned, some old deposit on reverse, very fine.
