Elizabeth II (1952 -), gold proof Set of two Fifty-Pence coins, 2006, for the 150th Anniversary of the Victoria Cross, each coin struck in 22ct gold. Portrait of The Queen facing right by Ian Rank-Broadley, ELIZABETH. II. D. G REG. F. D. 2006, rev. a depiction of the obverse and reverse of the Victoria Cross with the date 29 JAN 1856 in the centre of the reverse of the Cross, the letters VC to the right and the value FIFTY PENCE, design by Claire Aldridge. Wounded Colleague Coin shows a depiction of a soldier carrying a wounded comrade with an outline of the Victoria Cross surrounded by a sunburst effect and the value FIFTY PENCE, design by Clive Duncan, 31.00g (S. PGVCS - 2006). As struck in original Royal Mint case with certificate of authenticity.
