Elizabeth II (1952 -), gold proof Britannia Set, 1997, One Hundred Pounds, Fifty Pounds, Twenty Five Pounds, Ten Pounds, Anniversary of Britannia issue, coins weighing 1oz, ½ oz, ¼ oz, and 1/10 oz respectively of fine gold alloyed with copper, crowned head right, RM initials below bust for designer Raphael Maklouf, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, rev. the figure of Britannia standing in a chariot drawn along the seashore by two horses, with the weight in gold and inscription 'BRITANNIA 1997', by designer Philip Nathan (S. PBG14-1997). As struck, in original Royal Mint black leather case and certificate of authenticity No. 0242.

The Latin legend translates as "Queen Elizabeth the second, by the grace of God, Defender of the Faith."
