Elizabeth II 1986 Maundy Set
Elizabeth II (1952-), silver Maundy set, 1986, Four, Three, Two and One New Pence, each with young laureate head of Queen right, legend and beaded border surrounding, +ELIZABETH.II. DEI. GRATIA. REGINA. F:D: rev. crowned mark of value with date either side all within oak wreath (ESC 2603; S.4211). Mint state in Royal Mint sealed plastic envelope.
The official Maundy sets were given by the Queen at Chichester Cathedral in 1986, they are the only current coins issued in sterling silver. The mintage for all four denominations for 1986 would produce 1,378 Maundy sets.
