Elizabeth II 1977 Maundy Set

Elizabeth II (1952-), silver Maundy set, 1977, Silver Jubilee year, Four, Three, Two and One New Pence, each with young laureate head of Queen right, legend and beaded border surrounding, +ELIZABETH.II. DEI. GRATIA. REGINA. F:D: rev. crowned mark of value with date either side all within oak wreath (ESC 2594; S.4211). Mint state sealed in Royal Mint plastic in original square case.

The official Maundy sets were given by the Queen at Westminster Abbey in 1977, Silver Jubilee year, they are the only current coins issued in sterling silver. The mintage for all four denominations for 1977 would produce 1,138 Maundy sets.
