Elizabeth I Three Halfpence

Elizabeth I (1558-1603), silver Three Halfpence, 1572, London Mint, third and fourth issues (1561-77), small crowned bust left, rose behind, inner and outer beaded circle surrounding, initial mark ermine both sides, E: D: G: ROSA: SINE: SPINA: rev. long cross fourchee over quartered shield of arms, date above, CIVI TAS LON DON, weight 0.61g (BCW ER-2/ER-b; N.2000; S.2569). Toned good fine to almost very fine.

The abbreviated Latin legends translate as on the obverse, "Elizabeth, by the grace of God, a rose without a thorn." and on the reverse as "City of London."
