Elizabeth I (1558-1603), silver Halfpenny, sixth issue (1582-1600), portcullis with chains, initial mark escallop (1584-86) above, rev. long cross fourchée, three pellets in each angle, outer beaded border both sides, weight 0.24g (Withers 1d; N.2018; S.2581). Toned, a pleasing example of the smallest hammered silver denomination of the reign.
