Elizabeth I (1558-1603), silver Halfpenny, sixth issue (1582-1600), portcullis with chains, initial mark A (1582-84) above, rev. long cross fourchee, three pellets in each angle, outer beaded border both sides, weight 0.27g (Withers 1b; N.2018; S.2581). Toned good very fine, a charming example of the smallest hammered silver denomination of the reign.
