The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Edward the Seventh by the Grace of God, King of all the Britains, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India."

Despite the very low mintage, the survival rate of these coins is quite high especially with the advent of the Bank of Canada Hoard that has come through the marketplace in the last ten years. Despite this increase in population, the demand for the lower mintage Sovereigns remains high and the market readily absorbs them.
