PENSE. beaded border surrounding, Latin abbreviated legend in upper half, FID: DEF: IND: IMP: denomination and date in lower half, weight 14.16g (Bull 3568; ESC 747; Davies 1510; S.3980). Toned, with just a few hairline marks, otherwise practically as struck.
The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Edward the Seventh by the Grace of God, King of all the Britons" and on the reverse as "Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India." With the French motto translating as "Evil to him, who evil thinks."
