Edward the Confessor Penny, Pyramids type, Chester, Bruninc

Edward the Confessor (1042-66), silver Penny, pyramids type (1065-66), Chester Mint, Moneyer Bruninc, crowned King right, holding sceptre, bust to edge of coin, legend in Latin commences lower left, +EADPARD REX, rev. annulet at centre of voided cross within linear circle, pellet topped from inner circle in each angle, Latin legend surrounding, +BRVNINC ON LEGI, weight 1.29g (N.831; S.1184). Toned, striking flaw at top of obverse, otherwise good very fine.

The Latin legends translate as "Edward King " on obverse and on the reverse "Brunninc of Chester."
