Edward IV, second reign Groat, London, type XXI

Edward IV, second reign (1471-83), silver Groat of Fourpence, type XXI, London Mint, facing crowned bust with rose on breast, within double tressure of nine arcs, fleur on each cusp, beaded circles and legend surrounding, saltire stops, initial mark cinquefoil (1480-83), *EDWARDx DI GRA REX AnGLx Zx FRAnCx DnS h, rev. long cross pattee, tri-pellets in each inner angle, beaded circles and double concentric legends surrounding, CIVI TAS Lon DOn inner legend, *POSVIx DEVmx A DIVTOR Ex mEVxm*, rose at end of legend, weight 2.60g (N.1631; S.2100). Clipped, toned, good very fine.

The Latin abbreviated legend translates as "Edward, by the grace of God, King of England and France, Lord of Ireland" and on the reverse "I have made God my helper," a Psalm from the Bible.
