Edward IV, first reign (1461-70), silver Groat, light coinage (1464-70), Bristol Mint, class VII, facing crowned bust with B on cusp at base of breast, quatrefoil each side of neck, within double tressure of nine arcs, trefoil on six cusps, beaded circles and legend surrounding, pellet stops, initial mark crown (1466-69), EDWARD DI GRA REX. AnGL Z FRAnC, rev. long cross pattée, tri-pellets in each inner angle, beaded circles and double concentric legends surrounding, VIL LA B RIS TOLL, legend with trefoil stops, POSVI DEVm' A DIVTOR E'x mEVm, weight 3.15g (N.1580; S.2004). Toned with a light die clash evident with cross from reverse showing through on obverse, otherwise good very fine with a nice mint reading.

The Latin abbreviated legend translates as "Edward, by the grace of God, King of England and France, Lord of Ireland" and on the reverse "I have made God my helper," a Psalm from the Bible as well as the inner mint reading "Town of Bristol".
