Edward III (1327-77), silver Penny, Pre-Treaty period (1351-61), series D, London Mint, facing crowned bust beaded circles and legend surrounding, rounded letters with Lombardic closed E and C, annulet stops, +EDWARDVSo REXo AnGLI, rev. long cross pattee, tri-pellets in each inner angle, annulet at centre of each trio, beaded circles and legend around with unbarred As and Ns, CIVI TAS LOII DOII:, weight 1.04g (N.1156; S.1585). Toned, with a little ghosting of reverse cross through to obverse, good very fine.
The Latin abbreviated legend translates as "Edward, King of England" and on the reverse "City of London."
