Edward III (1327-77), silver Half-Groat of Twopence, Pre-Treaty period (1351-61), York Mint, series E (1354-55), facing crowned bust within double tressure of nine arcs, trefoil on each cusp, lis on breast, beaded circles and legend surrounding, annulet stops, +EDWARDVS'o REXo AIIGIL' Z FRACIo, rev. long cross pattee, tri-pellets in each inner angle, beaded circles and double concentric legends surrounding, CIVI TAS EBO RACI inner legend, +POSo VIo DEVo ADIVT OREmo, weight 2.08g (DIG 7/1; N.1166; S.1582). Toned, some ghosting of reverse cross onto obverse, raised die flaw on obverse rim, otherwise good very fine.

The Latin abbreviated legend translates as "Edward, by the grace of God, King of England and France, Lord of Ireland" and on the reverse "I have made God my helper," a Psalm from the Bible.
