Edward I Penny, Long cross type 10cf2, London

Edward I (1272-1307), silver long cross Penny, class 10cf2 (1301-10), London Mint, facing crowned bust, Latin legend and beaded borders surrounding both sides, commences at top, +EDWA R ANGL DNS hYB, rev. long cross pattee, trio of pellets in each angle, CIVI TAS LON DON, weight 1.39g (N.1041; S.1411). Toned a bold very fine.

The legend translates as "Edward King of England, Lord of Ireland" on the obverse and "City of London" on the reverse.
