Edward I Penny Lincoln

Edward I (1272-1307), silver long cross Penny, class 3c (c.1280-81), Lincoln Mint, facing wide crowned bust, Latin legend and beaded borders surrounding both sides, commences at top, +EDW REX ANGL DNS hYb, rev. long cross pattee, trio of pellets in each angle, CIVI TAS LIN COL', weight 1.43g (N.1022; S.1427). Toned with slight ghosting of reverse cross, otherwise a bold very fine and rare.
