Edward I (1272-1307), silver long cross Penny, Bury St Edmunds Mint, class 9b, facing crowned bust in beaded circle, wedge collar, initial mark cross pattee and legend surrounding, beaded outer border, barred Ns, +EDWA R ANGL DNS hYB, rev. long cross pattee, tri-pellets in each inner angle, beaded circles and legend around, VILL SCI E DMV NDI, weight 1.42g (N.1037/1; S.1418). Toned, some ghosting of reverse cross onto obverse, a few light hairline scratches, otherwise about very fine.
The Latin abbreviated legend translates as "Edward, King of the England, Lord of Ireland" and on the reverse "Town of Saint Edmund."
