Eadgar Penny, North Eastern Moneyer Aesculf

Eadgar (959-973), silver Penny, North Eastern moneyer Aesculf, two line type, small cross pattée, circles and legend surrounding, + EADGAR REXoo, double annulet stop at end of legend, rev. three cross pattées across centre, moneyer name in two lines, trio of pellets above and below, ÆSCV /LF MO, weight 1.39g (N.741; S.1129). Toned, rim a little chipped in one place, hairline surface crack on reverse, otherwise very fine.

With collector's ticket stating coin was from B A Seaby Ltd of London n 1962 for 35 Shillings.
