Cosimo III de Medici (1642-1723), Grand Duke of Tuscany (1670-1723), cast bronze medal, 1684, by Massimiliano Soldani (1656-1740), bust of the grand duke right, COSIMVS . III . D . G . MAGNVS . DVX . ETRVRIÆ . VI, rev. before a temple to Peace inscribed PACE, the grand duke stands with Tuscany, seated, who holds a plumb line and set square over an altar surrounded by arms, a lion at its base, in exergue, SIC STABIS, 91mm (Vannel & Toderi, 1987, no. 35). An original cast, full-size and extremely fine.

In 1693 Soldani was officially recognized as a descendant of the aristocratic Benzi family of Figline and thenceforth was known as Massimiliano Soldani-Benzi.
