Commonwealth (1649-60), silver Shilling, 1651, English shield within laurel and palm branch, legends in English language, initial mark sun, .THE COMMONWEALTH OF ENGLAND., no stops in legend which has Ns over inverted Ns, stops only at the mint mark, rev. English and Irish shields, value .XII. above, beaded circle and legend surrounding, date at top, legend surrounding, .GOD. WITH. VS. (Bull 93 R2; ESC 984A R2; N.2724; S.3217). Toned and well struck, some light surface marks, has been graded and slabbed by PCGS as AU55, very rare.
