City of London, Georgian Silver Broker's Badge, c.1801-1830, by John Milton, crowned Royal arms, rev arms of the City of London with griffin supporters, engraved name JOHN NORBURY below, 40mm (Naylor type 5; Caldecott type 3; Stainton 49; E 936; MG 1337). Extremely fine.

By 1855 John Norbury was Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Stock Exchange. He was one of many supporting brokers who, in 1857, signed the petition for the Decimal Coinage Commissioners.
