Cilicia, Tarsos, Satrap Mazaios (c. 361-334 B.C.), Silver Stater. Baaltars, wearing a himation over his lower limbs, seated left, his head and upper body facing, holding an eagle, an ear of corn, a bunch of gapes, and a lotus-headed sceptre, Aramaic legend on right ('BLTRZ' = Baaltars), Aramaic letters on left and below throne, rev. lion attacking a bull left, Aramaic legend above ('MZDI' = Mazaios), an ear of corn and Aramaic letter below, 10.95g., 4h (SNG Levante -; SNG France 350 var. (no ear of corn on reverse); SNG von Aulock 5959 var. (different letter on reverse)). Lustrous, good extremely fine.
