Charles, Prince of Wales, Investiture, 1969, silver 4-medal Set by John Pinches, struck in "Britannia" silver = 95.84% pure silver, weights 29.14g, 16.76g, 13.48g and 7.2g respectively.
The 1969 Prince of Wales Investiture silver sets were primarily struck as commemorative medallions to mark King Charles III's investiture at Caernarfon Castle. ThIs is the most notable officially issued set by John Pinches of 4-medal Britannia silver (.958) which contains medals in sizes corresponding to standard Crown, Halfcrown, Florin, and Shilling denominations. Only 2,000 sets were issued. Beautifully rainbow toned. This set has been graded by NGC PF65 Ultra Cameo, PF65 Ultra Cameo, PF64 Ultra Cameo and PF64 Ultra Cameo.
