Charles II (1660-85),silver Fourpence, 1683, laureate and draped bust right, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, CAROLVS. II. DEI. GRATIA,rev.four interlocking Cs with emblems, date either side of crown above, MAG. BR. FRA. ET. HIB. REX. weight 2.47g (Bull 639; ESC 1857; Robinson p.148: 73; S.3384). Toned, some haymarking, struck on good metal. Very fine.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Charles the Second, by the Grace of God," and on reverse as "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland."
